VILLINGER, Balbina (Mrs. Peter MUENCH, Jr.) -- 1838-1905
Belleville Weekly Advocate dated Feb. 10, 1905. Mrs. Balbina Muench, wife of
Peter Muench, died at the family home, 514 North Spring Street, Tuesday afternoon at 4
o'clock, aged 66 years and 11 months. Deceased is survived by her husband, Peter Muench,
and one son, John Muench, a caterer, in business in Chicago, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary
Wittauer, of this City. The funeral took place Friday morning from St. Lukes Church to
the Mount Carmel cemetery. **2nd Obituary in German: ??...born Bil...?? wife of Mr. Peter
Munch died on Tuesday afternoon 4 o'clock in St. Elizabeth Hospital after she had been in
the hospital only one day. She reached an age of 60 years, 1 month and 15 days. The
deceased was born March 23, 1838 in Aufbert (part of Neustadt) ( Grobherzogthum ("b" is "ss")
in the Dukedom of Baden. She came to this country in 1852 and lived for a short time in
Green County, IL then later moved to Belleville. She married Peter Munch in 1860. He was,
at that time, a foreman at the Billingerchen Brewery in South Belleville. During that last
20 years, Mr. Munch had a dairy farm with which his wife helped him. Besides her husband,
she leaves behind the following children: John Munch in Chicago, Illinois; Mary, wife of
Peter Wittauer; Herman Munch in Elternhause (nursing home or parents home?). Also three
grandchildren and the following sisters: Mrs. Louis Balz in Carolton, Illinois;
Mrs. Wihelmine Meibter ("b" is "ss") in Green County, Illinois and Mrs. Franzesh Schuler
in St. Louis Co., Missouri. She was a member of the Teutonia Lodge #5.
